Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will (but not limited to):
Read content and correct spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors.
Rewrite texts to make it easier for readers to understand in simple correct English Language.
Verify facts and authors cited in materials for publication.
Evaluate submissions from writers to decide what to publish.
Work with writers to help their ideas succeed.
Develop content ideas in line with the publication’s style and editorial policy.
Allocate space for the text, photos, and illustrations that make up a content.
Approve final versions submitted by staff.
Modify written content from writers.
Develop a content calendar for the firm in line with the firms’ projections.
Oversee content production.
Create highly shareable content.
Adhere to editorial best practices.
Requirement
B.A. English Language or Linguistics.
Minimum of 3-5years Editorial Experience,
as well as English Language tutorship.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs
especially Word and PowerPoint.
Required Competencies:
Sound writing and proofreading skills.
Experience with content management systems.
Ability to meet the necessary criteria and
deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to provide constructive feedback.
Analytical and creative thinking abilities.
Ability to create catchy topics/subjects.
High level of grammatical skills to be able to use
words appropriately, interpret and communicate
information following basic rules of sentence
construction, punctuation, and spelling.
Ability to prepare reports of modified materials
monthly.
Displays integrity – transparency in dealings with
management, staff, and other individuals that you
may encounter.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication
skills, to enable professional interaction within
staff and management, both internal and external
to the firm.
A flexible, pro-active approach to work including
the ability to prioritise and re-prioritise.
